In our first edition of Meet the Team, we're talking to Brit, our Digital Strategy Manager. Here you’ll get to know Brit, what it’s like to work at Fortress Brand, her favorite products and a fun fact - I can assure you it’s not what you’re expecting!
Brit, how many years have you been at Fortress Brand?
About to hit my 3 year Fortress-versary! It feels like 10 years in the best way.
Describe a day in the life of a Fortress Brand Digital Strategy Manager.
My day-to-day involves supporting the growth of our brands through advertising. I also work closely with our incredible Brand Management and Content teams to test creative, push products seasonally, and use a data-driven approach to solving problems. We love making magic happen.
On the Performance Marketing team, we believe that no win is too small to celebrate. You'll typically find me sending customer search data to different brand chats and immediately conspiring on how we can take that information and apply it to our listings.
How have you made the most out of working from home?
The most special part about this year was spending some time in South Carolina with my sister and brother-in-law while still working my normal schedule. It was so important for me to (safely) spend time with family when lockdown started.
Now that I'm back in Brooklyn, weight lifting in the mornings to get some energy out and well-curated playlists are vital to my day-to-day. Also: a lot of pizza and old wrestling pay-per-views.
What’s your favorite part of your job?
The collaborative environment at Fortress Brand is second to none. Every team member is vital to the success of our brands and our company as a whole. We take so much pride in that and make every day a mission to kill our work, so it's incredibly inspiring to work amongst people that are excited and motivated to get things done.

What's your proudest achievement at Fortress Brand?
There are so many ways to succeed in the Amazon marketplace, and one that I've found to be the most fruitful is to make sure you're making the most of your entire product line. It’s so exciting to see a growth opportunity for a product that isn't a part of our brands' bestsellers. It's like a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
What's your favorite product from a Fortress Brand partner?
I'm loving the Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil right now. It smells unbelievable, not perfume-y, and is now necessary for me to use before makeup. Having some slip on your face before putting on makeup is so important, especially when you have the driest winter skin like me, so I love this product for that purpose.
Honorary mention to the Lanolips 101 Ointment for moisturizing fresh tattoos!
Predictions for next year around Amazon and e-commerce?
The pandemic has a large audience thinking about their general health and wellness, and not just on the immunity front. Health and Personal Care is already an extremely competitive category, but there's huge growth potential there. I think we'll see a lot of DTC wellness brands enter the Amazon space in 2021.
I'm the resident wrestling fanatic at Fortress Brand. That means I'm constantly bombarding my team with WWE GIFs and the latest wrestling news. I was even able (or rather, allowed) to write about WWE and Amazon on the Fortress Brand blog. Give it a read!
